Cookie policy
Last updated · Operator: StoreCompliant
The short version: we set no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies, on our website or on the shops that use our app. This page lists the little that can be stored in your browser and tells you how to control it.
1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser and receives back with later requests. Local storage is a similar place in your browser where a page can keep a small amount of information; unlike a cookie, it is not sent to the server automatically. EU rules (the ePrivacy Directive) treat both in the same way: anything that is not strictly necessary for a service you asked for needs your consent first.
2. On our website, storecompliant.com
| What | Set by | Purpose | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Advertising, social media or tracking cookies | Nobody | We do not use any | — | — |
| Analytics cookies | Nobody | We do not use any. Our statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and stores nothing on your device | — | — |
Security cookies, for example __cf_bm or cf_clearance |
Cloudflare, our hosting provider | Telling real visitors from automated traffic and protecting the site against attacks. They are set only where Cloudflare’s protection needs them, for example after a security check | Strictly necessary | Short-lived: __cf_bm lasts about 30 minutes; cf_clearance lasts for the limited period Cloudflare sets after a passed check |
Cloudflare Web Analytics. We measure visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and no local storage, does not follow visitors from one website to another, and does not fingerprint visitors for advertising. It gives us aggregated figures such as the number of visits to a page, the referring site, the type of browser and device, the country and loading times. More detail is in the privacy policy.
No cookie banner. Because the website uses only storage that is strictly necessary for security, and nothing that needs consent, we do not show a cookie banner. If this ever changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent before anything that requires it is stored.
Email links. The website has no forms. Links such as “email us” open your own email program; they store nothing in your browser.
3. On shops that use the StoreCompliant app
If you visit an online shop that uses our app, the app’s part of the page works like this:
| What | Stored where | Purpose | Personal data | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cookies | — | The app sets no cookies | — | — |
| The last price line shown for a product: the public “lowest price in the 30 days before this discount” figure, its currency, its wording and the display settings that go with it | Your browser’s local storage, one small entry per product you viewed | So that the line still appears if our server is briefly unreachable | None. It holds no identifier, nothing about you and nothing about what you did. It is not sent back to us | Until it is replaced by a newer figure or you clear your browser’s site data |
The legal guarantee notice and the withdrawal form store nothing in your browser. What you type into the withdrawal form is sent to the shop when you confirm; see the privacy policy.
The shop itself, its platform and any other apps the shop uses may set their own cookies. Those are not ours: the shop’s own cookie notice tells you about them.
4. In the app’s dashboard (merchants)
The merchant dashboard opens inside your shop platform’s admin area. The app sets no cookies there. It keeps one entry in your browser’s local storage: the dashboard language you chose, so the dashboard opens in that language next time. The platform’s admin area uses its own cookies under the platform’s cookie policy.
5. How to control storage in your browser
You are in control of what your browser keeps:
- See and delete. Every browser lets you view and delete cookies and site data, for all sites or one site at a time. Look in the browser’s settings under “Privacy”, “Cookies” or “Site data”.
- Block. You can block cookies and site storage for some or all sites. Our website can still be read. On a shop that uses the app, the price line still works when local storage is blocked, as long as our server can be reached.
- Private windows. In a private or incognito window, what is stored is removed when you close the window.
If you block the security cookies described in section 2, some protection checks may be shown to you more often.
6. Changes and contact
We will update this page if what is stored changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
